Extra Cost of Part B

The difference between what you will likely pay, including both premiums and out-of-pocket costs, when you have an FEHB plan with both Medicare Parts A and B, compared to the same plan with only Part A. Even with a generous wraparound benefit from the plan, you will rarely recover most of the extra cost of the Part B premium. But in plans that eliminate high deductibles if you have Part B, you can offset all or almost all of the standard Part B premium cost. Medicare Advantage plans are only available if you take Part B so we cannot compare the differences between the two estimates.
